Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care, diagnostics, and support for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies, ensuring optimal treatment and management under medical guidance.
Responsibilities:
Deliver respiratory therapy services following established departmental policies and procedures.
Assist with intubation, set up and manage ventilators, and oversee respiratory support devices.
Collect relevant patient data, including testing results and consultation inputs, to evaluate individual needs.
Develop rapport with patients and caregivers to promote understanding and cooperation in care plans.
Educate patients and caregivers on respiratory conditions and treatments in clear, accessible language.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate and improve patient care outcomes.
Qualifications: Hold a valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
Possess at least 1 year of recent RRT experience, with ICU and ventilator expertise.
Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and work as part of a team.
Be willing to float across adult ICU, intermediate care, and other relevant units.
Hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
