Job Summary:
Provide specialized respiratory therapy services to patients, managing ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy, and blood gas analysis in a fast-paced clinical environment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and safety during shifts.
Responsibilities:
Administer respiratory treatments and medications following physician directives.
Monitor and operate ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP devices, and blood gas machines.
Assess patient respiratory status and adjust treatments as necessary.
Document patient care outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and implement care plans.
Respond promptly to emergency respiratory needs and provide emergent interventions.
Qualifications: Hold current Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and VA State license.
Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Demonstrate at least 2 years of ICU or acute care respiratory therapy experience.
Proven ability to manage mechanical ventilators and blood gas analysis.
Adapt to a fast-paced environment and display excellent clinical judgment.
Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills.
