Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist evaluates, treats, and cares for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves working closely with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans to improve respiratory function.
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' respiratory conditions through physical exams and diagnostic tests
Administer therapies including oxygen administration, mechanical ventilation, and aerosol treatments
Monitor patients' responses to treatments and adjust protocols accordingly
Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and management strategies
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, interventions, and outcomes
Comply with safety protocols and infection control procedures
Qualifications: Hold a valid Respiratory Therapist license or credential
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program
Proven experience in acute or outpatient respiratory care settings
Demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Possess excellent communication and patient education abilities
Maintain current CPR and ACLS certifications
