Job Summary:
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services to inpatient populations, evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Deliver care within a collaborative healthcare team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and compliance with licensing and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions to develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
Document patient progress and clinical findings accurately in transcripts and electronic health records.
Comply with facility and licensing regulations, including BLS and state licensure requirements.
Adapt to unit and patient needs, floating as required within scope of practice.
Qualifications: Valid Kansas or Compact Speech-Language Pathologist license in hand.
Minimum of 1 year of inpatient therapy experience.
BLS certification required.
Ability to travel within a 50-mile local radius and float to related units.
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
