Job description

Overview: Some careers are just jobs. This one is different. At Pinnacle Family Services , the work you do every day has a real and lasting impact on children and families who need it most.

For over 30 years, we've provided evidence-based therapeutic foster care and behavioral health services to at-risk youth across North Carolina and South Carolina — specializing in serving children who have experienced trauma, loss, abuse, or neglect. Our approach is trauma-informed and relationship-focused, because we know that healing happens through connection.

When you join Pinnacle, you're not just joining an organization — you're joining a community of professionals who show up every day because they genuinely believe in this work.

Pinnacle Family Services is part of Health Connect America , a COA-accredited family of behavioral health brands serving children, families, and adults across nine states. That means you'll have the close-knit culture and mission focus of a team that's been doing this work for decades, backed by the resources, clinical infrastructure, and organizational support to help you do it well. Every program across our network shares the same commitment — compassionate, client-centered care that meets people where they are and walks alongside them toward something better.

Come make a difference and grow with us.

Health Connect America Family of Brands

Responsibilities: If you're someone who believes that compassionate, evidence-based mental health care can help individuals and families overcome challenges and reach their full potential, this role was built for you.

As a Therapist at Health Connect America, you'll provide high-quality therapeutic services that support emotional wellness, strengthen coping skills, and promote lasting positive outcomes. Through assessment, treatment planning, therapy, crisis intervention, and collaboration, you'll play an important role in helping clients achieve meaningful progress in their lives.

What You'll Do

As a Therapist, you'll provide individualized behavioral health services while partnering with families, treatment teams, and community resources to support client success. Day to day, you can expect to:

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and utilize evidence-based assessment tools to identify client strengths, needs, and treatment recommendations

Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives in collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary treatment teams

Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, and other mental health conditions

Monitor client progress, maintain ongoing communication and follow-up, and adjust treatment interventions to support positive outcomes

Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to additional resources and support services as needed

Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, payer requirements, accreditation standards, and state regulations

What to Expect

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing therapeutic services that help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve improved mental health and well-being. You'll work closely with clients, caregivers, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

Success in this position requires strong clinical skills, empathy, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering person-centered care. You'll participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities designed to strengthen your clinical expertise and support career growth.

For clinicians providing services in North Carolina, responsibilities may also include integrated care functions such as care coordination, health promotion, transitional care, and community resource linkage.

Qualifications: We welcome candidates who bring a passion for behavioral health and meet the following qualifications:

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required

Must hold an associate license as an LCSWA or LCMHCA

Additional Qualifications

Experience conducting behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions preferred

Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention practices

Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team while managing an active caseload

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance required for community-based service delivery, when applicable
