Physical Therapist

Certifications: Active BLS certification required
Must-Have: Willingness to work on an IRF unit Critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
Description: This facility features a comprehensive therapy staff that supports the entire facility. The bed capacity includes a 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility and an acute care hospital with an average census of 240. There are 17 physical therapists on staff, including both full-time and per diem personnel. The unit is structured to provide day shift support for patient care needs, with no night shift staff. Patient ratios are 4 patients per day on the IRF unit and 8 to 12 patients per day in acute care settings. Available equipment includes two therapy gyms, Vector, LiteGait, and an ADL apartment. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. The ideal candidate will have hospital or IRF experience, particularly in stroke or neuro rehabilitation. Responsibilities include evaluations, treatment planning, and discharge discussions. Team conferences and family training are integral parts of the role. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Staff are expected to adhere to unit guidelines, including a requirement to work one weekend shift per month. This role presents an opportunity to engage with new equipment and technology, as well as to work with a dedicated and experienced team. All staff are expected to be available for alternate weekend and holiday shifts.
