Job description

Providence Swedish Cancer Institute (PSCI) is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Thoracic Surgeon to join its nationally recognized thoracic surgery program working in Everett, Washington.

nThis is an outstanding opportunity to become part of one of the Pacific Northwest's premier multidisciplinary programs. The successful candidate would work alongside an growing team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and interventional pulmonologists along with an established gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, and advanced practice clinicians dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

nThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with benign and malignant diseases including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumors, chest wall tumors, benign foregut diseases (hiatal hernias, GERD and achalasia) and other complex thoracic diseases. The position offers access to advanced minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical technologies, a robust clinical trials infrastructure, and the opportunity to participate in program development, quality initiatives, education, and research across the Providence - Swedish Cancer Institute network at its Everett campus

nnAccess to advanced robotic and minimally invasive thoracic surgical technology

nnDedicated APP, nursing, and administrative support

nnLeadership and program-building opportunities available for qualified candidates

nnWork alongside nationally recognized thoracic surgery and oncology specialists

n

nnCompensation is between $610,866 and $762,516 per year

n

n nPosition Responsibilities:

nnnProvide comprehensive surgical evaluation and management for patients with thoracic diseases

n

nnPerform minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, and open thoracic surgical procedures

n

nnParticipate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and complex GI planning conferences

n

nnCollaborate closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, pathology, and radiology colleagues

n

nnSupport quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical pathways developed within the Division of Thoracic Surgery

n

nnParticipate in teaching and mentorship of trainees, advanced practice clinicians, medical students and other healthcare professionals as appropriate

n

nnContribute to clinical research and programmatic growth within the Providence - Swedish Cancer and Digestive Health Institutes

n

nnDeliver compassionate, patient-centered care consistent with Providence - Swedish's mission and values

n nRequired Qualifications:

nnnCompletion of an accredited General Surgery residency program

n

nnCompletion of an accredited Thoracic Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship

n

nnBoard-certified or board-eligible in Thoracic Surgery

n

nnEligibility for medical licensure in Washington State

n

nnEligibility for federal DEA registration

n

n nPreferred Qualifications:

nnnMinimum of 5 years in practice

n

nnExperience in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery

n

nnInterest in clinical trials and translational research

n

nnDemonstrated commitment to multidisciplinary care

n

nnExperience with benign and malignant esophageal diseases

n

nnStrong communication skills and commitment to collaborative practice

n

n nThe compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them.
