Patient Account RepresentativeNote: This is a full-time position.Responsible for all aspects of assigned patient accounts after charge entry to final resolution.Essential FunctionsReasonable Accommodations StatementTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Functions Statement(s)Greet and check in patients to include: maintaining pre-authorization, and collecting co-pay, co-insurance and other balances owedVerify and update insurance information and demographicsMake/pull patient chartsCheck/Review insurance eligibilityResolve patient balance related questionsDetermine and review financial responsibilities and insurance coverage with patientsReview surgery costs and establishes payment plans for patient portionObtain all precertificationRespond to correspondence from payors and patientsSchedule and register patients for surgeryDistribute morning/afternoon surgery center schedulesDistribute surgery schedule add on and cancellation correspondenceComplete daily cash report and prepare depositsRespond to all correspondence from patientsReceive deliveriesRegular and predictable attendanceAbility to work in a cooperative manner with othersPerform other duties as assignedSkills & AbilitiesEducation: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).Experience: Previous healthcare billing experience is preferred.Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.
