Tire Technician
nTransdev is seeking an experienced Trailer Technician to bolster our team. This position will perform routine maintenance and repair work on Class 8 trucks and trailers, and other vehicles (pickups, small trailers, etc.) which adheres to Transdev standards. These duties will primarily be focused on tire repair and replacement. But they may included other repairs and maintenance under the direction of a more highly skilled position. This may include but is not limited to tire maintenance, fulfilling service calls for repair, conducting visual inspections of vehicles and related work as assigned. As a Tire Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our customers assets.

n nKey Responsibilities:
nnnEnsure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with minimal supervision on basic maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components.
n
nnAssist Tech II or III with preventative maintenance (PM's), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage.
n
nnAssist in the performance of mechanical repairs including the repair of brakes, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
n
nnMaintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately
n
nnDiagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under direct supervision.
n
nnEvaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required
n
nnNotify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken
n
nnMoves vehicles safely between job and work area
n
nnAssist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
n
nnAdhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures
n
nnCleans vehicles as requested or required
n
nnOther responsibility as requested or required
n
n nQualifications:
nnnHigh school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
n
nnClass B CDL preferred.
n
nnASE Certification preferred. (expected to have 1 ASE within 24 months of hire)
n
nnBasic mechanical aptitude and 0-1 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
n
nnAdhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards
n
nnValid driver's license
n
nnSubject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
n
n nPhysical Requirements:
nnnThe essential functions of this position require the ability to:
n
nnWork outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
n
nnSit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
n
nnPush and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
n
nnWithstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
n
