nPosition Overview:
nDaniels Tire Service is seeking Tire Technicians for the Yard and Pad. Responsibilities include the inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of tires for a variety of vehicles and equipment within the yard and pad area. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and an understanding of safety protocols related to tire handling. The Tire Technician will work closely with other team members to ensure that vehicles and equipment are ready for operational use and that tire-related issues are promptly addressed.
nKey Responsibilities:
nTire Inspections and Assessments:
nConduct regular inspections of tires on vehicles and equipment in the yard and pad.
nIdentify tire damage, wear, or abnormalities, and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
nEvaluate tire pressures and conditions to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
nTire Installation and Replacement:
nRemove and install tires on vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
nPerform tire service as required to ensure optimal performance and safety.
nEnsure tires are safely and properly inflated to manufacturer-recommended specifications,.
nTire Repair and Maintenance:
nPerform tire patching, plugging, or other repairs as needed.
nMaintain tire inventory, track wear and usage patterns, and assist with the ordering of new tires as necessary.
nAssist in keeping tire storage areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
nSafety and Compliance:
nAdhere to all safety protocols and procedures when handling tires, tools, and equipment.
nMaintain a clean and safe working environment in the yard and pad area, including proper disposal of scrap tires.
nEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
nUse cages when inflating all tires
nTorque all tires
nTool and Equipment Maintenance:
nOperate tire-changing equipment, and air compressors safely and efficiently.
nMaintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
nDocumentation and Reporting:
nRecord tire usage, repairs, and replacements in the appropriate tracking systems.
nReport any issues or potential hazards in the yard and pad to the supervisor.
nComplete and sign off on work orders as required
nComplete Waste Tire Manifests as required for CalRecycle
nTeam Collaboration and Communication:
nWork closely with other technicians and yard staff to coordinate tire-related tasks and operations.
nProvide assistance to team members when necessary and contribute to team goals.
nQualifications:
nExperience:
nPrevious experience as a tire technician or in a related role (preferably in a yard or fleet environment) is preferred.
nExperience with tire mounting, balancing, and repair techniques is a plus.
nSkills:
nStrong knowledge of tire types, sizes, and usage specifications.
nAbility to operate tire-related equipment and tools (e.g., tire changers, wheel balancers).
nGood problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
nStrong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
nPhysical Requirements:
nAbility to lift heavy objects (up to 100+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
nAbility to work in a variety of weather conditions and outdoor environments.
nAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
nWorking Conditions:
nWork is performed primarily outdoors in the yard and pad area.
nExposure to various weather conditions, dust, dirt, and mechanical equipment.
nWork schedule Monday - Friday approximately 40 hours per week
