Specialist Role
Order Management: The specialist oversees the entire process of takeout, deliveries, and curbside orders, consolidating multiple digital order streams from third party apps like door dash, uber eats, Grubhub, and the restaurant's own system into the POS for kitchen staff.
Quality Control: Before an order leaves the restaurant, the specialist verifies each item against the receipt, checks for special instructions and modifications, and ensures all necessary condiments, utensils, and napkins are included.
Customer Interaction: This role involves direct communication with customers and delivery drivers, handling payments, order modifications, and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Coordinate with staff: The specialist acts as a bridge between the kitchen, front-of-house team, and delivery services, maintaining smooth workflow and preventing disruptions to dine-in service. They also train and support staff on best practices for handling to-go orders.
Inventory and Station Management: Maintaining a clean, organized to-go area and monitoring inventory of packaging supplies and containers is part of the daily duties. This ensures efficiency and readiness during peak periods.
Operational Efficiency: The specialist must manage multiple orders simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to unexpected challenges, requiring strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Skills and Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members. Knowledge of food safety, packaging techniques, and kitchen equipment. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
