Tool And Die Machinist 2nd ShiftHowmet Aerospace has an opening for a Tool and Die Machinist 2nd Shift in our Tucson, AZ location.Responsibilities:Responsible for the rework of parts meeting print and specification requirements.Will operate manual mills, lathes, and grinders.Will need to read and interpret blueprints.Responsible for creating functional dies and cut toolsWill modify servicing tools and modify molds as needed.Good interpersonal and communication skillsAble to read and interpret tooling prints, work instructions, policies and proceduresWorking knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principlesAble to solve practical problems with a variety of variablesAble to calculate figures and amountsAble to perform entry level machiningAble to maintain records and quality standardsAble to use and read basic inspection tools: calipers micrometers, optical comparatorMinimum tooling experience required 1-3 years. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is desired or have a background working with machinery. Prefer previous hands-on experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers and reading blueprints.High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution preferred but not requiredThis position will physically require the incumbent to perform duties standing, walking, overhead reaching, lifting (35 – 40lbs), pushing and pulling totes, and leaning over machines, all equally on a regular basis.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
