Job Description Job Description About the Role DS Mold & Die is a locally owned, established industrial tool build and machining shop located in Belding, MI. We are looking for an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our team.
If you are a highly skilled tradesman who takes pride in building, repairing, and troubleshooting dies, we want you on our floor. Skip the high-traffic commute into Grand Rapids and bring your skills to a stable, respected local shop where your craftsmanship is valued.
Key Responsibilities
Build, repair, and maintain plastic injection molds, stamping dies, and custom tooling.
Operate manual and CNC toolroom equipment (mills, lathes, surface grinders) to fabricate precise tooling components.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings.
Fit and assemble mold and die components to exact tolerances.
Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform preventative maintenance on existing dies.
Work closely with the machining team to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications
Proven, hands-on experience as a Tool & Die Maker, Mold Maker, or highly skilled Toolroom Machinist.
Expertise in operating manual toolroom equipment (grinders, mills, lathes).
Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform precision measuring.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Journeyman card is a plus, but we heavily value real-world shop floor experience.
