Job description
Tool & Die MakerThe Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, jogs, fixtures, and other precision components used in the steel manufacturing process. This role ensures tooling operates efficiently to support production requirements, maintain product quality, and minimize downtime.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jogs, fixtures, and tooling used in steel manufacturing operationsRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD files to fabricate tooling components.Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes.Modify existing tooling to improve efficiency, product quality, or safety.Conduct preventative maintenance on dies and tooling to extend life and maintain reliability.Ensure tooling meets required tolerances and quality standards.Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety procedures and policies.Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Education:High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.The Company:Putting the needs of customers first has taken Chief Industries, Inc. from a small construction company in 1954, to a highly diverse company with a reputation for manufacturing quality products and offering unparalleled customer service.
