Tool Maker/Sinker EDM Machinist – Fort Wayne, IN$28.00–$35.50/hour | First Shift | Company-Paid Employee Health InsurancePrecision Work Without Production-Line RepetitionIf you know how to program and set up Sinker and Wire EDM equipment—and can hold tolerances of ±0.0005 inch or tighter—this is an opportunity to work on challenging, low-volume components instead of running the same part all day.We're seeking an experienced Tool Maker / Sinker EDM Machinist for a growing Fort Wayne precision machine shop supporting automation, aerospace, and other demanding industries. You'll take ownership of your work from programming and setup through machining and final inspection.Compensation and Benefits$28.00–$35.50/hour, based on experienceFirst-shift scheduleEmployee health insurance fully paid by the companyHSA plan option401(k) with company profit-sharing contributionsCompetitive PTO—up to four weeksSeven personal or sick daysCompany-paid life insuranceShort- and long-term disability insuranceDental and vision insurance are not currently offeredWhat You'll DoManufacture tooling details, prototypes, and aerospace componentsProgram, set up, and operate Sinker EDM and Wire EDM equipmentOperate an EDM hole popper and other machine-shop equipmentFabricate graphite electrodes using grinding and milling processesProduce high-precision, low-quantity parts to demanding specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, and GD&T calloutsAdjust machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and product qualityInspect completed parts using precision measuring equipmentPerform routine machine maintenance to support consistent performanceCollaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot manufacturing challengesManage assignments independently with minimal supervisionWhat You'll NeedAt least five years of practical machine-shop experience using EDM equipmentStrong Sinker EDM or Wire EDM programming and setup experienceAbility to independently program, set up, and operate assigned machinesExperience holding dimensional tolerances of ±0.0005 inch or tighterStrong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skillsProficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and similar inspection equipmentPersonal machinist tools and measuring equipmentStrong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilityAbility to communicate effectively and collaborate across engineering and machining teamsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAdditional Experience That Will Help You Stand OutExperience machining steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and exotic aerospace materialsConversational programming experienceMastercam experienceStrong hands-on mechanical aptitudeExperience solving complex tooling, electrode, or EDM process problems
