Tool Repair TechnicianUS Farathane is seeking an experienced third shift tool repair technician. This position will provide tool building and repairing support to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction.US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable management team and dedicated associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain tools in optimal operating conditionPerform preventative maintenance activitiesPerform minor engineering changesAssist in trouble shooting and repairing toolsAssist supervisor in training associates in the proper care and use of toolsAssure proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for all toolsFollow all prescribed internal tooling proceduresAssist process engineers in implementing process improvement changesParticipate in corresponding root cause analysis and corrective actionsMaintain high standards of housekeeping in work areaParticipate in team problem solving activitiesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresResponsible for maintaining accurate and timely records of all tool repairs and changesResponsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety proceduresResponsible for following all USF policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requiredMinimum 5 years’ experience with plastic injection molds and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in mold making/repairExperience in operating various machinery equipment including adept use of an overhead craneAbility to read tooling prints, hydraulic and electrical circuit prints and diagramsMust have technical training and/or experience on CNC, EDM and MillAlso, a tool technician must have their own toolbox and an assortment of mold making and repair toolsPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
