Job description
Tool Room Shop TechnicianThe Tool Room Shop Technician is responsible for supporting tooling operations by manufacturing and repairing production support equipment, maintaining inventory levels, and performing light machining and fabrication tasks. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills who works independently while supporting the tooling department. SHIFT: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pmJob Duties And ResponsibilitiesManufacture puller cleatsAssist Tool Design Department with mold creationBuild repair and maintain air and water jigsMinor repairs using mill and lathePerform minor repairs using hand tools, drill press, bench grinder and belt sanderMaintain inventory levels of puller cleats and plastisol and related tooling suppliesInspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with specificationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S)Communicate effectively with Tool Room supervision, to prioritize workAssist with other tooling department tasks as assignedQualificationsExtrusion working knowledge and experience preferredExperience using hand tools and basic shop equipmentBasic machining experience or working knowledge of drill press, bench grinding, milling & latheMechanical aptitude and attention to detailForklift and golf carts experience preferredAbility to follow work instructions and read simple drawings.Strong organization skills and ability to maintain inventory levelsSelf- motivated and ability to work independentlyGood verbal communication skillsMust have excellent safety recordMust be a reliable employee with excellent attendance recordVocational or Technical education preferred
