Tooling ClerkIrby Construction Company, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a detail-oriented Tooling Clerk to support day-to-day tooling, equipment, and administrative needs for its operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate tooling records, supporting tool check-in/check-out processes, assisting with inventory and documentation, and providing general clerical support to help field and office teams operate efficiently.The Tooling Clerk works closely with operations, field personnel, supervisors, and support teams to help ensure tools and related records are organized, accurate, and readily available. The role requires strong attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate records of tools, equipment, and related inventory, including check-in/check-out activity and assigned users or locations.Assist with issuing, receiving, organizing, and tracking tools and equipment used by field and operations personnel.Support routine inventory counts and help identify missing, damaged, or unreturned tools and equipment for follow-up.Enter and update tooling, inventory, and administrative information in company systems, spreadsheets, or tracking logs.Prepare, print, scan, copy, file, and distribute documents, reports, labels, and other materials as needed.Monitor shared email or assigned correspondence and provide basic email communication and follow-up with employees, vendors, and internal departments.Assist with maintaining organized electronic and paper files for tooling records, receipts, transfers, repairs, and related documentation.Coordinate with supervisors and field personnel regarding tool availability, returns, transfers, repairs, and replacement needs.Assist with documenting tools or equipment sent for repair, calibration, service, or replacement and maintain status updates through completion.Support receiving activities by verifying deliveries, organizing incoming tooling or supplies, and routing documentation to the appropriate personnel.Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tooling and clerical work area and follow established processes for asset accountability.Provide general clerical and administrative support to operations and other departments as assigned.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in business, administration, logistics, inventory, or a related field is preferred.Prior clerical, administrative, inventory, warehouse, tooling, or operations support experience preferred; entry-level candidates with strong organizational and computer skills may be considered.Must be comfortable working on both Windows and Mac operating systems.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn company tracking or inventory systems.Ability to perform basic email correspondence, printing, scanning, copying, filing, and data entry accurately and efficiently.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow established processes.Effective written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting field and office personnel.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervisors, operations personnel, and support teams.Construction, utility, equipment, warehouse, or inventory experience is preferred but not required.Location, Schedule & Work AuthorizationThis is an on-site position based in Quinlan, Texas.
