Tooling CoordinatorCenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are seeking a Tooling Coordinator with the ability to work on 2nd shift for our envelope manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.The schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional overtime based on business needs with approval.The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in tool inspection, make-ready, purchasing, customer service, and inventory in a print/production environment. The incumbent will have solid attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to perform in a high volume work environment with speed and accuracy.Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, Cenveo provides competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.Job SummaryPrepare, inspect, organize, and stage the necessary change parts and materials for all the changeovers in the plant, before the machines are shutdown to perform a changeover. Maintains accurate inventory of parts and supplies ensuring that parts are readily available to be shipped to facilities as requested. May assist in leading production employees to ensure a constant flow of production.Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.Coordinate the staging of job jacket, raw materials, and print plates.Accurate change time tracking and documentationMaking Gummers; Mixing InksMaintain inventory and order change parts; Return of Used Parts & MaterialDevelopment/Utilization of Make Ready SOP'sMaintain Tooling Condition (Sharp, Usable); Coordinate the reconditioning of ToolingRead and understand written and verbal instructions, specifications and informationProblem-solving and decision making; consistent communication with manager/teamsCollaborate with pertinent contacts / departments to achieve goalsInspect and monitor quality of products received from other departments or moving to another department, including packaging of materials for shipment to ensure quality standards are metActively support continuous improvement in processes and proceduresPromote and maintain a clean, safe and organized work area by adhering to Safety PoliciesResponsible for collecting and accurately reporting necessary dataPerforms physical inventories on a regular basis, to verify inventory records and correct discrepanciesMaintains hazardous chemical documentation and facilitates disposal of hazardous materialProvide coverage for other positions as needed.Job RequirementsMinimum related experience required for this position is 3-5 years.Practical knowledge and experience of Offset/Flexo equipment/similar parts, inks, and solvents.Knowledge of envelope sizes and paper weights and types preferred.Minimum education required is a High School Diploma or equivalent.Solid math, measuring, and computer skills are requiredRequires excellent verbal and written communication skills.Industry related experience and mechanical knowledge required.Requires ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving between departments or functional areas for work production or service quality.Willingness to work overtimes/ other shifts if needed.Ability to be innovative and problem solve is requiredRequires contact with other all Functional Areas and outside vendors.Physical Requirements & Environmental ConditionsAbility to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.Mental alertness to stop equipment when jam occurs.Ability to step up, reach overhead, and manually feed blanks into machine.Requires regularly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, and reaching.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Manual dexterity required to grasp objects; exposure to arm and wrist fatigue.Exposure to noise; must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.Environment is a printing and manufacturing environment.Exposure to dust, ink, solvents, vapors and loud noise.Requires frequent bending, standing and walking throughout shift.Requires manual dexterity and hand -- eye coordination.Must have good color perception.
