Job description
Toolmaker IIIThis position will perform final mold assembly work – review and analyze repair work to meet company demands. Position provides detailed and timely information to help achieve company goals and initiativesDuties and ResponsibilitiesPerform final mold assembly on new tool buildsManage assigned tool builds ensuring smooth workflow between departmentsUtilize traditional machining techniques (lathes, mills, surface grinder, centerless grinders, and CNC machines)Diagnose production tool issues for repairPerform mold maintenance per PM program as requiredAttend mold samples as requiredUtilize computer software for geometry examinations, review and interrogation for manufactureMaintain quality standards of companyAttend design reviews and provide design input as requiredMaintain communication with other departments to ensure smooth workflowWork toward meeting or improving delivery datesMaintain flexibility in working within other areas of toolshop as requestedEnsure all department documentation is completed using proper Good Document PracticesEnsure all proper manufacturing procedures are followedMaintain a clean & safe work areaWork scheduled hours, including Overtime initiatives, as requestedMaintain machine and other company equipment in good working orderHelp to maintain positive attitude within the departmentOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required and/or certification from associated trade school7+ years of experienceAbility to complete final assembly on complex tooling unsupervisedCapable of managing workflow for individual tool builds.Ability to work to very tight tolerances (.0002") on square and round componentsMeasure with tool makers instrumentsBasic computer skills requiredCAD/CAM software knowledgeInjection mold wiring knowledgeAbility to read, write and verbally communicate clearlyAbility to read and understand 3-D files and 2D printsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must have good visionMust have manual dexterityMust be able to sit or stand for long periods of timeRepetitive motions are requiredRequires frequent bending, squatting, and twisting motionsMust be able to climb stepladdersMust be able to climb up and down stairsOther Special RequirementsMust be available for overtime as neededEnvironment: Noise level is uncontrolled (Ear plugs are provided.)Perform job duties in accordance with ISO13485/9001 standards and requirements, including auditsSafety ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all safety procedures are followedEnsure that all equipment safeties are not altered or defeated.
