Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Trademark Partner in Buffalo, New York. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in intellectual property law, particularly in trademark prosecution and management of international trademark portfolios. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in client service and practice growth.
Duties
Advise clients on trademark protection and perform clearance searches.
Prosecute U.S. trademark applications and manage oppositions.
Coordinate global trademark portfolio coverage with foreign associates.
Draft license and transactional agreements.
Send and respond to cease and desist letters.
Collaborate with M&A team on trademark diligence.
Appear before U.S. federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Supervise an associate and a team of paralegals.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Strong academic credentials.
Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across practice areas.
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Certifications
Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.
Skills
Expertise in trademark prosecution and enforcement.
Experience with licensing and transactional agreements.
Litigation experience before Federal Courts and the USPTO.
Leadership and team development skills.
