Trades Helper - PlumberAssist in maintaining all plumbing and related fixtures in such a manner that students have a safe, sanitary and comfortable place in which to learn.Educational Qualifications:Experience in plumbing or plumbing repair preferredKnowledge of plumbing preferredFamiliar with building machines and skilled in the use of tools. (preferred)Valid Texas Driver's License (submit copy with application)Major Responsibilities and Duties:1. Assists in maintaining and repairing or replacing parts to both internal and external plumbing systems.2. Assists in maintaining water system.3. Assists in maintaining sewer system.4. Assists in maintaining gas system.5. Assists in performing preventive maintenance and replaces as necessary plumbing fixtures.6. Assists in maintaining and repairing water heaters.7. Assists with maintenance of boiler system when needed by HVAC service.8. Assists in maintaining and repairing sprinkler system.9. Assists in maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment.10. Assumes responsibility for proper maintenance and operation of all assigned vehicles and tools.11. Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, parts, and equipment.12. Work extra-curricular functions outside of regular assigned work schedule as requested to include football games, election days, weekends, etc.13. Works outside of regular assigned work schedule to repair and/or replace needed facilities to include night and/or weekend duty as requested.14. Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during regular business hours to confer with district personnel.15. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility unless instructed to work from home by supervisor.16. Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.Distance Learning and Virtual Instruction Duties and Responsibilities In the event of a school closure in response to a disaster, flood, extreme weather condition, fuel curtailment, epidemic, pandemic or other calamity, the following duties and responsibilities will be added to the above listed Major Job Responsibilities and Duties, as directed by the Superintendent.17. Usage of personal equipment, including but not limited to personal cellular phone, personal computer, and personal internet service when working from home during a District closure due to government or Board order or during an emergency affecting normal District operations.18. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor. All employees are expected to comply with lawful directives.Working Conditions:Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying.
