Trainee Position Legal Department
You are at the beginning of your legal career and want to gain international experience? You are characterized by an independent working style, team capability, performance, goal orientation, and communication skills?
At our location in New York, we are looking for a full lawyer, diploma lawyer, or diploma business lawyer (m/f/d) to strengthen our legal department starting in August 2026 for 12 months.
The AHK USA - New York is one of five German-American Chambers of Commerce in the USA. For over 75 years, the AHK USA - New York has been promoting economic relations between Germany and the USA. Our legal department offers companies diverse support in the processing of transactions between Germany and the USA.
We offer a varied and international activity in a legally and economically exciting area. You will gain insights into German and US American business law and work on answering general legal questions from areas such as general civil law, commercial and corporate law, tax, customs, labor, and residence law, as well as product liability law. Furthermore, you will support the collection service of the AHK USA - New York.
Due to the content topics, negotiation-secure English skills are required, which you ideally acquired through an overseas stay and/or an LL.M. in an English-speaking country.

Salary: 35,360 USD/year, J1 visa fee covered
Costs for the candidate: Insurance, flight, and living costs in NY, visa fees: SEVIS and consular fees
Start date: August 2026
Duration: 12 months
