Job description
Our client is seeking a Transaction Management Accountant to support complex transactions across financial services, capital markets, and commodities-related businesses. This role serves as a key accounting subject matter expert, partnering with business leaders and finance teams to evaluate new transactions, provide accounting guidance, and ensure compliant, audit-defensible outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a commercial mindset and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Pay: $110,000

What You'll Do
Provide technical accounting guidance on new products, restructures, and complex transactions.
Analyze and document accounting treatment for financial instruments and other complex business activities.
Partner with front-office teams, finance professionals, and business stakeholders to identify accounting implications and commercially viable solutions.
Evaluate new business proposals and assess accounting-related risks and impacts.
Research, interpret, and apply relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Communicate accounting judgments, conclusions, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Monitor emerging accounting developments and assess their impact on the business.
Deliver accounting training and technical updates to internal stakeholders.
Support audit reviews by preparing clear and defensible accounting analyses and documentation.
What We're Looking For
CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
Experience in Accounting Advisory, Technical Accounting, Transaction Advisory, or a closely related function.
Strong background within banking, capital markets, financial services, or commodities-related environments.
Deep knowledge of IFRS 9 and financial instruments accounting.
Ability to interpret complex accounting guidance and apply it to real-world business transactions.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across multiple business functions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to Have
Commodities industry experience.
Experience supporting structured transactions, derivatives, or other complex financial products.
Exposure to global financial services organizations.
Prior experience delivering accounting training and educational sessions.
