Role Description The Transactional / Litigation Attorney will work on a full-time, on-site basis in New York, NY. This role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate and construction contracts and related transactional documents. The attorney will manage and participate a variety of transactional negotiations, primarily in the real estate and corporate context. The attorney will also mange all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Day-to-day responsibilities include counseling clients on risk, strategy, and dispute resolution, appearing in court, conducting depositions, and collaborating with colleagues to develop case and deal strategies. The attorney will also be expected to maintain organized matter files, communicate clearly with clients, and contribute to the firm’s overall practice development.
Qualifications
Experience in real estate and construction matters
Transactional experience, license agreements a plus.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, including dispositive and procedural motions
Experience appearing in Courts and managing matters across different jurisdictions
Background in handling Trials, including preparation, strategy development, and courtroom advocacy
Skill in conducting Depositions, including preparing witnesses and examining parties and experts
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission)
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a client-service and results-oriented mindset
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a team-based environment
Prior experience in a real estate or construction law practice is highly preferred
