Transfer Advisor/ProcessorUnofficial transcripts should be from the college or university which verifies qualifications for the position.Note: Credential evaluations are needed for all transcripts obtained outside the U.S. before uploading and submitting an application. (Credential evaluators should provide course-by-course evaluations and transcribed in English.) Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.Posting DetailsDepartment/College - Admissions/RecruitingPosition Title - Transfer Advisor/ProcessorJob Category - StaffPosting Number - 00549FLSA - Non-ExemptFull or Part Time - Full-TimeOtherTemporary - NoPosition Summary InformationDuties - The Transfer Advisor/Processor is responsible for processing applications, transcripts, and other required student documents for undergraduate, graduate and international applications. In addition, this position will aid in making admissions decisions and maintaining student data. The Transfer Advisor/Processor will support the daily operations of the office, as well as provide exceptional customer service to prospective students and applicants during enrollment advising appointments. This position will also provide information about the University, its programs, and admissions criteria and assist with a smooth matriculation to Athens State University, occasionally serving as additional support for recruiting events as needed.Essential Functions:Provide essential processing functions to Office of Admissions including application processing, mail and email management, transcript intake processing, documentation verification, imaging, and admissions decisions.Provide exceptional customer service and advising to prospective students on Athens State programs and application requirements.Assist with maintaining the overall functionality of the application software.Ensure the confidentiality and accurate data entry of all information processed.Comply with all policies of the University, Department and appropriate State and Federal regulations.Run application reports, as needed.Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing work scope and tasks based on need.Maintain "open door" to internal and external customers.Identify opportunities for improvements to work practices and offer viable solutions for implementation.Utilize critical thinking, problem solving and experience with student issues to be proactive in addressing potential student concerns, identifying potential barriers within the student enrollment process and initiating steps resulting in resolution.Ability to deal professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Complete other duties as assigned.Qualifications - Qualifications Required:Bachelor's degree requiredAbility to communicate effectively with others.Advanced knowledge of computer technology and software applications to conduct job duties.Must have the maturity and adaptability to be team-oriented and yet able to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent listening and communication skillsExcellent Organizational SkillsRequired License, Certification, or Special Credentials:Valid Driver's LicenseOther Qualifications and Job Requirements:Preferred: Experience in higher education admission, financial aid, or advising officeExperience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software programWorking Conditions:Must be able to remain in a stationary position such as sitting and/or standing for up to 75% of the timeMust be able to move objects up to 20 pounds in all directionsFrequently communicates with current and prospective students for recruiting and enrollment needsFrequently uses hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machineryOccasionally operates a motor vehicle for recruiting and enrollment needsSalary Schedule - Salary Band: $39,678 – $49,598 To view salary schedules visit: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.University Information - Located in historic Athens, Alabama, Athens State University offers junior and senior-level coursework to community college graduates and transfer students holding sufficient credits from other institutions. Approximately 3,000 students each semester have selected Athens State because of its neighborly environment where over 50 majors and degree programs are offered, with courses taught by a supportive and exceptional faculty. Approximately 95% of the students are enrolled in at least one online course. The typical student is a working adult who commutes.
