Job description

Transmission 2nd Class LinemanTransmission 2nd Class Lineman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of transmission lines. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.Key Responsibilities:Installs transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgearInstalling and maintaining transmission lines including new construction and maintenanceAbility to perform light distribution, (cover up, moving wire, storm response)Running new wire and maintaining old wireInstalling new lines and performing repairs including energized stick work, pole assembly, conductor installation and operating equipmentSetting towers and polesReading and interpreting drawings and blueprintsDigging trenches, climbing poles, towers etc. to perform dutiesTroubleshooting and repairing systems as requiredMaintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.Contribute to the development of and participate in the delivery of the Pre-Job BriefingWork from a bucket or climb different types of structuresPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
