Substitute Bus MonitorAnticipated vacancy for a Substitute Bus Monitor in the Transportation Department.Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a teamDemonstrates integrity, honesty, patience, humor, compassion, courtesy, responsibilityExperience in a job/volunteer activity that involved working with children in an educational setting.Physically able to secure wheelchair students for a safe ridePerformance Responsibilities:Assist with loading and unloading of special needs students and monitor those students while being transported to and from schoolUnderstands and monitors behavioral needs and anticipates situation when support may be neededParticipates in training to develop the skills to work with special education studentsAssist driver with emergency management situationsCommunicate effectively with students, driver, and building supervisors regarding students' safe ride to schoolHourly Rate: Per the Collective Bargaining AgreementDeadline: Open Until FilledAll applicants who are interested in filling this position must apply online at Scroll to bottom of homepage and click on "Employment".
