Transportation Construction InspectorMackin Engineers & Consultants is a leading civil engineering firm serving infrastructure projects across the eastern U.S. With offices in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and West Virginia, we deliver innovative, high-quality solutions in highway, bridge, and construction inspection services.Mackin is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors and Inspector Supervisors (TCI/TCIS) for roadway and bridge construction projects in the Pittsburgh area. Positions are available for multiple experience levels, from entry-level inspectors to senior inspectors and supervisors.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform roadway and bridge construction inspections per plans, specifications, and contractsInspect grading, excavation, drainage, asphalt, concrete, structures, traffic control, and signageMonitor contractor progress and ensure quality, safety, and complianceConduct field measurements, testing, and material samplingPrepare daily reports and maintain construction documentationCommunicate with contractors, engineers, and project teamsSupervise and mentor inspectors (supervisory levels)QualificationsHigh school diploma required1–5+ years of construction inspection experience, depending on levelExperience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, municipal, or utility projects preferredAbility to read construction plans and specificationsStrong communication and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office; Deltek Ajera a plusValid driver's license and ability to travelCertifications preferred (level dependent): NECEPT, PennDOT Concrete/ACI, NICET Highway Construction, CDS NextGenBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company match & profit sharingPTO, paid holidays, parental & bereavement leaveTuition and certification reimbursementLife, disability, pet, and supplemental insurance optionsEmployee Assistance Program
