Join Our Respected Trauma Care Team at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC)
Riverside Health is currently seeking a full-time Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon to join our team of five at RRMC in Newport News, Virginia. As the only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region, RRMC offers a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment where compassionate, expert care meets collaboration and innovation.

Powered by Epic system-wide (inpatient and outpatient)
Strong physician leadership and collaborative, multidisciplinary teams
Hospital Highlights:
Single hospital coverage – not travel required
Twelve‑hour shifts; The rotation is every other week call rotating between Trauma/surgical critical care for 7 days, Acute Care (Emergency general surgery) week 3 and night float week 5
Team of 5 experienced Trauma Surgeons and 5 dedicated APPs
18‑bed Surgical ICU with full Intensivist support
Supportive in-patient APP coverage 7 days a week
The only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region
450 bed hospital, level II trauma center
Required Qualifications:
Completion of ACGME both General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
Board Certification / Board Eligible
Collaborative interpersonal style, focus on quality care and solid oral and written communication skills
Collaborative approach with other physicians and APPs

Hiring Range: $425,000.00 – $595,000.00
Actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance
