Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Cardiac Step-down unit requiring ACLS certification and cardiac telemetry experience on night shift.
Details
Works in a 30-bed cardiac med-surg step-down unit
Patient ratio of 1:6
Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Uses GE telemetry and Rover, portable WOWs, and Welch-Allen VS machine
Documents in Meditech
Manages titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem, heparin) and non-titratable drips (dopamine, dobutamine, amiodarone)
Three full 12-hour shifts per week with 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
Floating required on rotation with other travel nurses
Requirements
Active TN or compact RN license required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and cardiac telemetry/EKG rhythm identification
Med-surg experience required
Familiarity with cardiac medications and drips required
Meditech charting experience required
Cardiac/telemetry knowledge and EKG rhythm identification skills required
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care on a cardiac step-down unit with titrated and non-titrated cardiac drips
Unit staffed with a charge nurse, unit secretary on dayshift, and 3 PCTs per shift
Required to wear navy blue scrubs
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
