Position Description:
nThis is a night shift traveler position created to backfill for a full-time staff member who is leaving the role due to health reasons. The demand for respiratory therapists is high within the department, with multiple openings available.
Position Information:
n Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
Call Requirements: 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Years of Experience: 3+
Float Requirements: Includes some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care.
n Education & Certifications Required:
n BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
NRP certification required for NICU
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
n Unit Information:
n Number of Beds: Varied depending on daily assignments; covers the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs.
Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8.
Equipment: Various ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm.
EMR: EPIC
n Hiring Profile:
n Must Have Skills/Experience: Experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital; familiarity with level 1 trauma situations.
Preferred Skillset/Experience: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience.
Type of Patients on Unit: Varied patient populations.
Personality Fit: Must be flexible, a team player, and possess excellent communication skills.
