Location: South Lake Tahoe, California
Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 40 guaranteed hours per week. 13-week assignment (89 days). Some shifts may require independent work; day shift is fully supported.
Highlights:
Work in a beautiful Lake Tahoe community at nearly 6,200 feet elevation
Non-profit community health system with Level III Trauma Center designation
Experienced microbiology technologist needed with recent plate reading experience required
Vitek experience preferred; spot testing, GS SOP revision, and CLSI update capability strongly desired
Generalist experience preferred; minimum 2 years as a generalist including Blood Bank required
Manual blood bank with tube and gel system; paper documentation environment
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related field
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
ASCP or AMT certification required
Must apply for Nevada Medical Technologist license prior to start (if less than 3 years experience) or Nevada General Supervisor license (if more than 3 years experience)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a hospital or similar institution
Recent microbiology plate reading experience required
Experience with manual blood bank, Ortho and Sysmex instrumentation
Ability to multi-task and work independently within 2 weeks of start
Ishihara Test for Color Blindness required
Candidate must be aware of oral swab for THC metabolites on day one
