Job Opportunity – Clinical Laboratory Scientist – South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: South Lake Tahoe, California – situated on the beautiful south shore of Lake Tahoe at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level
Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 40 guaranteed hours per week, 91-day assignment through January 16, 2027
Highlights:
Work at a community hospital and Level III Trauma Center serving residents and visitors to the Lake Tahoe region
High-volume laboratory environment with diverse testing responsibilities including microbiology, PCR setups, and generalist duties
Experienced microbiology technologist needed with recent plate reading experience; Vitek experience preferred
Opportunity to work with manual blood bank systems, Ortho and Sysmex instrumentation
Ideal for independent, self-directed professionals comfortable with traditional laboratory processes and paper documentation
Travel assignment with competitive compensation in a premier mountain resort destination
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related field
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
ASCP or AMT certification required
Nevada Medical Technologist license (must apply prior to start and obtain within 6 months; General Supervisor license required if 3+ years experience)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a generalist, including Blood Bank experience
Recent plate reading experience required; spot testing, GS SOP revision, and CLSI update capability strongly preferred
Ability to multi-task and work independently within 2 weeks of orientation
Strong computer skills and ability to effectively communicate in English
