Job description
Travel COTA - Skilled Nursing Facility
American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Long Term Care facility in Texas, requiring 2 years of LTC experience and a TX or compact license.
Position details:
Long term care (LTC) rehabilitative setting
Day shift, 8-hour shifts
No weekend requirements
No on-call requirements
13-week assignment length
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long term care (LTC) setting required
TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable
Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred
Additional information:
Execute therapy plans designed by the supervising OT to improve patient motor skills and coordination
Train patients on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques
Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment like reachers and mobility aids
Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT
Provide emotional support and caregiver training for home programs
Prepare treatment areas and clean equipment as part of daily operational tasks
