Key Responsibilities
Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining scans, positioning patients appropriately, and operating CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue.
Performs diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams in the department and with portable equipment.
Demonstrates the ability to inject IV contrast media as needed and performs a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and printing protocols as directed by the Radiologist.
Completes all required paperwork, requisitions for ordered exams, and exam scheduling in a timely manner.
Identifies mechanical and electronic equipment failures to accurately diagnose problems with radiographic machines and processors;
orders necessary supplies and maintains par levels.
Transports patients to and from the department as required and collaborates closely with floor staff to facilitate excellent patient care.
Required Qualifications
Active CT Technologist certification/licensure required
ARRT certification (CT) required
Ability to perform on-call duties as required
Proficiency in CT imaging, reconstructions, and applicable printing protocols
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions regarding equipment and processes
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with IV contrast media administration
Familiarity with Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm equipment in both departmental and portable settings
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary floor staff in a fast-paced clinical environment
