Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse in a healthcare facility is responsible for assessing the needs of surgical patients before and during cardiac procedures, ensuring patient safety throughout. This role involves developing and implementing patient care plans, supervising surgical room activities, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operative processes. The position offers an opportunity to provide specialized cardiac surgical care, leading the OR team and supporting staff development.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, 3 years of cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, open heart surgery experience, recent travel work history (highly preferred), proficient skills in CVOR procedures, and capable of supervising staff.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in cardiac surgeries, strong leadership skills, familiarity with surgical equipment and sterile techniques, and excellent communication skills.
Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for assessing surgical patients, supervising activity in the operating room, assisting anesthesia when needed, and participating in ongoing staff development through educational meetings and seminars. All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission, as the facility will not approve requests post-offer.
