Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Operating Room Open Heart Oak Lawn, Illinois. This position supports surgical services involving adult and pediatric open-heart cases, trauma, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, transplant, and general procedures. The role requires the ability to scrub and circulate in a fast-paced operating room environment, with rotating day shifts and scheduled on-call coverage. Job Details Schedule: Day shifts, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; 23 years of acute care experience; ability to scrub and circulate; experience with open-heart, trauma, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, transplant, and general surgical cases; Level I or Level II trauma experience; electronic medical record experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Critical care experience. Additional Information: The operating room provides care for adult and pediatric patients and operates around the clock, with limited overnight and weekend staffing focused on trauma and urgent cases. Weekend rotation is required every fourth weekend, holiday coverage is required, and on-call participation may be assigned based on the shift and service line. A 30-minute response time is required for on-call assignments. Department orientation includes educator and leadership introductions, system access, online learning modules, electronic medical record training, and unit-based orientation.
