American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and Epic proficiency on night shift. Details Work in a 30-bed or larger Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma center Independently manage Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assigned area Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30) Every other weekend (EOW) required Requirements Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (via AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale Minimum 2 years of ED experience, preferably in a 30-bed or larger Level 1 trauma center Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution required 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital required Epic EMR experience required Must pass a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment, including 100% on lethal rhythms and 83% or greater overall Additional Information Provide direct emergency nursing care to a high-acuity trauma patient population Smoke-free facility Candidates must complete lab testing within 72 hours of signing Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a reduced pay rate Former Broward Health permanent employees must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Degrees from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted American Traveler Job ID P- . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
