Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Galax, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Emergency Room, Galax, VA. The position provides emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a 13-bed emergency department. The schedule consists of night shifts with rotating weekend coverage and occasional intensive care unit float rotation. Job Details Required Qualifications: Virginia licensure required to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN); American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)/HWC, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications required before start; minimum of 2 years of experience; emergency room or trauma and critical care experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency room experience. Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; rotating weekends, every other weekend. Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: The role serves patients of all ages and includes care for conditions such as sepsis, congestive heart failure, chest pain, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, and trauma. Patient assignments may range from 1:4.
