Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Endoscopy RN with intraprocedural and GI experience for a day shift position at a Level III trauma center.
Details
Work in the Main Endoscopy unit of a Level III trauma center hospital
Specializes in Gastroenterology procedures across Pre/Intra/Post Procedure phases
7-bed unit with adult patients of mid to high acuity
Patient ratio of 1:2
Common procedures include Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and Bronchoscopy
Uses Olympus endoscopy equipment
Cerner EHR system used
Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
On-call requirements for weekends and evenings
May float to PreOp when Endoscopy case volume is low
Requirements
Active RN license (NM or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
RN degree required
Required intraprocedural technical experience in GI/Endoscopy
Procedural Tech experience required
Demonstrated competency in critical GI procedural actions including biopsy, dilatation, variceal banding, therapeutic injection, foreign body retrieval, clip application, snare technique, and various ERCP procedures (cannulization, biliary duct dilation, lithotripsy, stent placement, sphincterotomy, balloon sweep, basket retrieval, and contrast injection)
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and supplies with minimal prompting
Additional Information
Provide nursing care across pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases for GI patients
Proactively assist other team members in their assigned roles
