Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding Unit position at a Level I trauma center, requiring ACLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
Details
Position is based in the ER Holding Unit of a Level I Emergency Department
Primary focus is caring for admitted patients boarding in the ED while awaiting inpatient bed availability, in a designated area or hallway as needed
May float to an acute care unit when no boarding patients are present, though this is expected to be rare
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM
Every other weekend required, with some holiday coverage expected
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
Block scheduling can be accommodated
Requirements
Active RN license — TN state or Compact license required; pending licenses are not accepted
Current ACLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of acute care or medical-surgical telemetry (MS Tele) nursing experience required
Two professional references required for consideration
Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
First-time travelers may be considered depending on prior clinical experience
Local candidates may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis; candidates must live outside a 25‑mile radius of the facility to qualify under standard travel terms

American Traveler Job ID #P- . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
