Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the ER/MedSurg/Swing Bed Unit. This position requires flexibility to work on both day and night shifts, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week. The successful candidate will participate in a team-oriented environment and be willing to float between units as needed.

Location: Critical Access Facility in a Rural Setting

Shifts Scheduled: EOW (Every Other Weekend), rotating between days and nights

Qualifications Years of Experience Required: 2 years
Required Certifications: ACLS
BLS Certification
PALS
TNCC
Experience: Understanding of dementia, stroke, skin care for geriatric patients
EMR System: EPIC
Patient Care Responsibilities Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:8 using team nursing approach
Common Diagnoses: Dementia, diabetes, rehabilitation post-acute illness, IV medication administration, fluid and blood administration, wounds, initial trauma care, exacerbations of chronic illnesses, geriatric care
Titration: Required to manage titration for drips including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions
Team Structure Charge Nurse: Available on each shift with a team assignment
Support Staff: Includes Nurse Aides/CNAs on each shift
Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Patient-managed CPAP; RNs are not required to operate other respiratory equipment
Monitoring: RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
Working Conditions Orientation: 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Alternating holidays as scheduled
Floating Requirements: Must float to support the ER/MedSurg units
Dress Code: Scrubs provided, no specific color requirement
Additional Information Candidates must be aware of the radius rule and cannot have current employment with related facilities. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront, and additional requests will not be accommodated after submission.
