Job Description We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a multi-faceted unit that provides care to a diverse patient population.
Unit Information Unit Type: ER (Emergency Room)
Department: ER / MedSurg / Swing Bed Unit
Trauma Level: Critical Access (Rural Location)
Number of Beds: 25
Shift Details Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts: 0645–1915, 1845–0715
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Alternating/As scheduled
Floating Requirements: ER / MedSurg Support
Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care in the ER and MedSurg environments.
Utilize team nursing to deliver patient care.
Handle a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8.
Read and interpret telehealth strips as required.
Titrate drips including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Manage patients with common diagnoses such as dementia, diabetes, and post-surgical care.
Qualifications Required Experience: 1 year in a similar role (2 years preferred)
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
Must-have Skills: Understanding of dementia care, stroke management, and geriatric patient care.
EMR Experience: Familiarity with EPIC system is preferred.
Orientation Department-Specific Orientation: 3 shifts
Other Information Team Scheduling: Block scheduling possible upon request.
Scrubs: Provided, with no specific color requirement.
Charge Nurse: Present on each shift, taking team assignments, not individual ones.
Patient Care Techs: Available on each shift to assist nursing staff.
Please note that this opportunity is located in a rural setting, and candidates must be willing to float between ER and MedSurg as needs arise.
