American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Kodiak Island, Alaska. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 16, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level IV Trauma, critical access hospital setting requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with prior charge nurse experience. Details Work in the ER of an acute care medical center that also includes a long-term care facility and outpatient services Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital setting 3x12 variable shifts including both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) schedules Weekend shifts required Floating within scope required to meet facility needs No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active AK RN license required Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC preferred) Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required Previous charge nurse experience required Skills required include respiratory care of ventilated patients, medication administration, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and IV therapy/phlebotomy Continuous IV sedation experience preferred Epic EMR experience required Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Returning former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside the 50-mile radius Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests should be submitted upfront and are granted based upon request Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location Scrub color is flexible, business casual or any color accepted Facility-provided housing is available for the duration of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P- .
