American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Columbia, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 9, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI Emergency Department requiring ACLS, PALS, and MO or compact RN licensure. Details Level I trauma, stroke, and STEMI-certified Emergency Department with a dedicated pediatric ED inside the unit Psych center associated with the ED but no floating to that unit Day shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 6:45 to 19:15 Alternating weekends and holidays required 13-26 week contract options available with 36 or 48 hour schedules Floating required between ED and ED Observation units Cerner charting system preferred Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; ATCN, CPI, and TNCC preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required 1st time travelers accepted if they have Level I trauma experience Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with blood product administration and respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP) preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience with neurological trauma including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred Experience in orthopedic and ortho trauma care Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge and triage skills required Pediatric experience preferred Additional Information Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric trauma, stroke, and cardiac cases Required to take call and work rotating shifts including inclement weather coverage Must work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract Mandatory floating applies to all travelers, including serving as Patient Observers/Sitters when needed Local candidates residing 51-74 miles from the facility may be offered a local rate, with candidates within 50 miles not eligible to apply Local candidates are not eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment Maximum RTO of 10 days permitted, with no time off allowed during the first week due to orientation Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity Re-orientation not required if returning within 18 months of a previous assignment CPI Blue Card required for Behavioral Health RNs and LCSWs, and may be completed onsite at no cost if pending at start American Traveler Job ID P- .
