Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: Variable
Weekend: Every other weekend
Call: No
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
Floating: As needed
Unit Overview
Staffing: All RNs, with techs positioned in the lobby and unit secretary support
Equipment: Standard ED equipment
Stroke Designation: Primary Stroke Center
Cardiac Services: Chest Pain Accredited with 24/7 PCI/STEMI capability
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
Active Texas RN License
Temporary licenses will not be accepted
Strong emergency/critical-care assessment skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ED environment
Required Certifications
BLS
Registered Nurse License
Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
ACLS
PALS or ENPC
TNCC
NIHSS
Preferred Skills
Experience in trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergency care
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a high-acuity environment
Typical Procedures & Clinical Experience
Stroke evaluation and management
Chest pain and STEMI management
24/7 PCI-related emergency cardiac care
Rapid assessment and stabilization of emergency patients

Experienced and confident in emergency nursing
Able to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
Strong in critical thinking and rapid assessment
Comfortable working with a 4:1 patient ratio
Flexible with floating as needed
A strong team player with excellent communication skills
