Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a Surgical First Assistant within a perioperative services department supporting six major operating rooms
Assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties including OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry
Function as part of the standard intraoperative care team, maintaining appropriate patient ratios and care standards
Participate in a regular call rotation with the surgical technologist team, including weekend call as required
Document and manage patient information using the MedHost electronic health record system
Adhere to facility dress code and surgical attire requirements while in all procedural areas
Required QualificationsActive RN license or surgical technologist credentials applicable to a Surgical First Assistant role
Certified First Assistant (CFA) certification required
Successful completion of a surgical First Assistant training program
Minimum of 1 year of post-training experience as a Surgical First Assistant
Demonstrated competency assisting with OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills2 or more years of experience in a Surgical First Assistant role
Experience working in an acute care hospital setting with a high-volume surgical department
Familiarity with MedHost or comparable electronic health record systems
Professional demeanor with a collaborative and pleasant approach to team-based care
