American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma unit requiring trauma and neuro critical care experience and an active FL or compact license. Details ICU setting within a primary trauma and stroke unit Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Every other weekend required Float as needed Holiday coverage as needed Epic charting system experience required; Cerner experience preferred Requirements Active FL or compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients required Trauma and Neuro ICU experience required Level I Trauma experience required Charge RN and Neuro ICU experience preferred Degree from an accredited school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, suctioning (ETT, NT), cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review Additional Information Provide critical care nursing services within a Level I Trauma and stroke ICU Work in a smoke-free facility Must complete a pass/fail EKG and basic arrhythmia assessment, with a retake exam available within 24 hours if needed Permanent employees must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a reduced pay rate Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations allowed American Traveler Job ID P- . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
