American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 17, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a high-acuity Respiratory Care stepdown unit requiring 3 years of critical care experience with ventilator, trauma, and neuro patients. Details High-acuity Respiratory Care stepdown ICU unit Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30) Every other weekend required Floating as needed and holiday coverage as needed No block scheduling requests accommodated Patient ratio of 3:1, up to 4:1 depending on staffing Travel pairs will not be considered Requirements Active FL or compact RN license required in hand BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support Trauma and neuro experience required Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an FBON-approved institution with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital Epic EMR experience required Must pass a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review Additional Information Care for high-acuity respiratory patients requiring ventilator support in a stepdown ICU setting Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred Smoke-free facility Locals accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools will not be accepted Required to complete a Basic Arrhythmia assessment with passing score standards prior to starting first shift American Traveler Job ID P- .
